about
Ramblers Parade are a Lisbon band performing Global Folk sounds with the energy and message of Punk. Taking inspiration from Latin Cumbia, Greek Rebetiko, Balkan Horo and their own Folk-Ska roots to mix a danceable vibe with a positive message of solidarity with social movements.
The band see themselves a part of a musical dialogue re-interpreting traditions, combining a love of Balkan and Latin music whilst reflecting on their urban musical roots, with instrumentation of Accordion, Violin and Clarinet alongside fiery lyrics that sing from the protest tradition.
Their first EP 'Strike, Occupy!' blends these influences into a high energy mix; from Klezmer-Ska on 'Concrete Spines' to Cumbia-Punk on 'Leeches', Balkan-Dub grooves of 'Machinery' to the Folk-Swing scream of 'Strike, Occupy'.
Since forming in late 2020, Ramblers have performed across Portugal, Spain and Galicia in festivals, bars, cafes and cultural centres, bringing their sound of musical migration to audiences around Europe.

lyrics

Dead Cross, Retox, and Qui members dish out subversive hardcore with an indignant smirk; come for the riffs, stay for the synth experiments. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 31, 2024
